I LOVE THE NIGHTLIFE by Carla Ridge

CARLA REVEALED!
ALEX, TOO!
NIGHTLIFE REVELERS EMERGE FROM THE SHADOWS!

Yes, dearest darlings, following is an exclusive photo essay spanning the nocturnal missions of yours truly. You’ve been such good children, so please, feast your eyes and glut your soul on these images of a nightlife well lived.

There’s Carla and her dashing Alexander in one of our favorite postures. This was taken last Christmas at the Living Room, home of rightly self-described legend in her own time Micky Champion
(see MASH’s January 2000 ish).
That would be Carla, Alex and our lover Ruthanne – WE WISH! Miss Ruthanne is an actress, model and entrepreneur who now, sadly (for us), lives in Hawaii. This pileup transpired at The Cat Club during a Peal show.
Here’s Carla with another of our crushes, actress/devoted mother Candace, who appeared in the Actors Gang production of "The Akhmatova Project" (April 2000 MASH). We were snapped on the verandah of Candace’s home, where she mounted one of her wonderful cast parties.
Many nightlife tales have been told of our frequent companions Jim and Elizabeth. Here they are at The Joint in Las Vegas looking every bit the cosmopolite scenesters.
Elizabeth fibrillates with delight at having selected the PERFECT lipstick for La Carla. The moment was captured in the dressing area of her West Hollywood pied-à-terre the night she prepared a Henry VIII-worthy banquet for Alex’s birthday.
O! to be young and in love at Dragstrip 66 (February 2000) on St. Valentine’s Day. The scheme that night was to dress as your favorite celebrity couple. Alex and I naturally went as ourselves. Here we are with Farrah Fawcett (freshly battered) and a mysterious crossdresser named Joe.
Four fifths of Lo-Ball (July 2000) turned out for Alex’s birthday celebration at the 360 Bar, where we also took in a performance by the splendid Maureen Mahon And The Vicious Circle (June 2000). Eating cake in a distinctly rock ‘n’ roll manner are bassist Katie, drummer Claudia, singer Pauley and guitarist J.C. (guitarist Lissa was unable to attend).
What pulchritude! That’s Sera, Raelle, Kedric and Carla, about whom much was written last month (December 2000). Paparazzi caught us this night at a little Italian restaurant on Melrose (authentic Italian Al Pacino was at the table next to us). See more of all during the run of "Eve Of Paradise," in which you’ll be able to view Sera in her naked entirety, among other fabulous sights. Opening night for this Raelle-penned work is Feb. 8 at Silverlake’s Glaxa Studios.
Here’s a hottie Carla picked up at The Gig in Hollywood after taking in a Lo-Ball show (during which Miss. P. kissed me from the stage in protest of a female couple being thrown out of Dodger Stadium for a public display of affection). I certainly scored that night, and really, why should IT have been any different?
Alex and singer/songwriter/guitarist Wic warm themselves by the light of a tiki torch on nippy Christmas Eve 2000. The scene was set in the spacious Valley Village back yard of Lo-Ball drummer Claudia and producer/composer Doug.
The lovely and talented trio of producer Wendy, journalist Carrie and journalist Marissa prepare Christmas dinner in the kitchen of Carrie and rock star/producer Chris’ divine Eagle Rock home. Carla’s assistance extended to sipping mulled wine.
Alex and Carla ring in the new year. This steamy clinch took place at the residence of singer/songwriter Johnne, whose North Hollywood compound has seen its fair share of party trysts.

Thus you get the picture, kittens. And now that Carla and Alex have been uncovered, so, too, can the purpose of life: communion with others. Take it from us, it’s more fun at night.

Hoping to see all of you out soon,

XO,

Carla
