Stand by for Pie

| Nothing says holiday season like pie. Especially when it's Mrs. Murphy's German Chocolate Pie. Try it out and you'll see why our Editor-in Chief travels 3000 miles during the Christmas rush for this holiday dessert. |
| 1/2 cup chopped pecans | 1/4 cup butter or margarine |
| 1 can (13 oz.) evaporated milk | 1 & 1/2 cups sugar |
| 3 tbls. cornstarch | 1/8 tsp. salt |
| 2 eggs | 1 tsp. vanilla |
| 1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell | 1 & 1/3 cups coconut |

1 package (4 oz.) Baker's
German sweet chocolate

Melt the chocolate and butter(or margarine) over low heat, stirring until blended. Remove from heat. Gradually blend in milk. Mix sugar, corn starch and salt. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend in chocolate. Pour into pie shell. Combine the coconut and the pecans, sprinkle over filling. Bake at 375û for 45 to 50 minutes or until puffed and browned. Filling will be soft--it will set while cooling. Cool for at least four hours before cutting.
